Follow me x

Hey!
You have probably thought I have been living under a rock since there has been no links to follow me on Instagram, Tumblr etc.
This was because I didnt have them before, as my ipod touch was still on update iOS 4.5. I know. But now, I have updated my iPod to iOS7! Finally!!

Now me, being the forgetful, clumsy person that I am, forgot to back up all my apps and data on my iPod so I lost every incy bit. I nearly cried. But lucky for me, most of my apps were free so I could easily get them back.

Anyways, to cut a long story short, I now have tumblr and Instagram, so you can now follow me on that aswell, thank goodness!

Room-spiration! Yay!

Hi guys! I dont want to become one of those bloggers who keeps apologising for not posting (I know I do that a lot!)so I will get right to it. My internet/laptop has been down for days and days, it wouldnt let me post posts etc. But now I got my internet fixed! I am so happy. Really, I have missed it so much.

Anywho, the topic of this post, is a magical word that I have so cleverly thought up myself. Yes, it is Room-spiration! Yay!! So, soon (aka lots of months waiting) I will be redoing my room. My room is very lilac and pink and all fairys and that'. Err yuck.  So now, I am redoing the colour, curtains, rug, etc. So just a small makeover in a way. To help me a long, I have found some things that I would like to create/buy/copy for my 'new' bedroom. Whats this got to do with you? I hear you ask. Well, I need your room-spiration ideas and thoughts etc. Ok now lets show you what I have found and decided on:

1. Colour:

The colour I have chosen is a kind of mint/bluey sea green. I think it is such a beautiful colour and is a big step away from princess-y pinks and lilacs. It is so elegant and calming.

Where to find it? Dulex or Crown Paints (UK)

2. Curtains:

My curtains are purple, with butterflies on. I just really dislike the texture and look of them, so I have found these little beauties. These are called 'Voils' and you can purchase them in a range of colous, I like the white. If you live in the states, these are very popular. I just adore the floaty-ness and romantc look of them, overall, gorgeous.

Where to find them? Wilkinsons (UK).

3: Crafts and Furnishings:

I have gathered a whole range of things I would like to make/buy to cosy-up my bedroom, here they are below:

  • Camera Clock- I would love to have a go at making this in my DT Class!
  • Map hearts- These are so unique and easy to make, a wonderful way to remember your favourite places. I might do a DIY fo this, what do you say?
  • Paper/Card mini cameras- Another camera themed item. Make lots of these and add to a string to create a cute twist on bunting!
  • Organisation Jars- Who says that organising things isnt stylish! I beg to differ!
  • Delicate Dream catcher- I adore dreamcatchers, I currently have one in my room. I am fascinated by there history and beautifulness, I must say this one is very beautiful.
  • Fairy Lights- Every girl needs fairylights in her room, they make the whole room so much more magical at night.
  • Fairy glow jars- So so so so making these! All you do, is splatter some glow in the dark paint in a jar, or for an alternitive, stick on some glow in the dark stars for starlight in a jar!

Ok so there are my room-spiration ideas for my room! What do you think? I would love to know if you would like me to do more of these room-spiration posts and inspire you to get creative with you room!

Love always,

Hannah xx

Hannah's Journal

Hey!

I just want to tell you about a sort-of-big announcement. I might be changing the name of my blog. I know it will be really annoying for some of you as you have known my blog as Birdyblue, but I thought I would keep my username Birdyblue (I still think its cute).

The reason i might be changing it was beacuase I didnt think it represented 'me' enough. The name I was thinking was 'Hannah's Journal'. But I would really like to hear what you think
Nothing else is going to be changed apart from the header and web address, so all the type of posts will be the same.

I will posting proper posts again soon :)

Love always,

Birdyblue (aka Hannah) xx

My style: Free Spirit

Top: New Look
Belt: Amazon
Skirt: New Look
Shoes: F&F @Tesco

It was just one of those days where you kind of feel very relaxed and full of inspiration. Thats where I thought of this little combination, where it kind of represents me, a free spirit in a way! The yellow top is probably one of my most favourites, it is also a very popular colour at the moment, it was in the summer sale and I couldn't resist! The denim skirt adds a touch of blue to the outfit. Every girl needs a pair off wedges, no question. And, well the belt, where do I start? I will just say it is beautiful, cute and all over perfect and I must mention it was cheap!

The most important thing about being a girl and choosing your outfits, is choosing something that not only reflects and looks good on you, but something that your comfortable in. This outfit ticks all those boxes, while looking cute and feminine at the same time. When I put it on, I felt instantly pretty inside and out. Oh and it covers the transition from Summer to Autumn (harvest time) perfectly, with butter yellows, hazelnut browns and dusk blues. Country girl, oh yes!

DIY Polaroid Camera Brooche

Hiya!

Its time for another DIY, a DIY so cute it is un-resitable (I know, I know)! Today we are going to be making a Polaroid Camera Badge, yay!! Lets not waste any more time chatting, lets get into this adorable DIY!

Step 1: Print and cut out the template (above), then trace over it on the different felts (colour coded on the template) and cut it out.

Step 2: Collect a needle and thread it up. Put the 2 white base felt pieces together and then sew nearly all the way round, leaving a part of it un-sewn.

Step 3: Using your stuffing/cotton wool, stuff the camera through the open part of sewn base. After that, sew up the gap.

Step 4: Next, Stick on the rest of pieces of felt to start making the camera look like a camera ;)

Step 5: Using the fabric pens (I used pink yellow and blue) create the Polaroid ribbon underneath the lens.
It should look something like this:

Step 6: Turn over the Camera. Attach the Safety pin to the back of the camera, using a spare rectangular piece of white felt glue it over one side of the safety pin. Like this:

I added a small white strip of white felt to the black bottom part of the camera to create the slot where the photos come out. I then I tidied the camera up and this was the final result:

I thought it came out well! Sorry about the poor quality of the photos, my camera is kinda broken, but I will be getting a new one soon.
I paired my badge with a daffodil yellow top and dark denim jacket and it looked so retro and cute! I hope you have as much fun making it as I did!
